Staffline is working in partnership with a healthcare provider based in Galway that provides Specialist Palliative Care Services to improve the quality of life of people suffering from cancer and other life-limiting illnesses, and to support the person and their family.

The role:

Our client is seeking an experienced Clinical Nurse Manager (CNM 3) who is energetic, enthusiastic, highly motivated, creative, and experienced with a passion for engaging with the people they support daily.

The CNM 3 will be responsible for the overall management and leadership of nursing team. They will work on developing strategic plans, setting objectives, and implementing policies to ensure high standards of care.

They will also support and mentor junior nursing staff, including CNM1 and CNM2 roles, and provide guidance on best practices, conflict resolution, and professional development.

Person Specifications

  • Eligibility to work in Ireland is essential.
  • Must be fully registered with the NMBI (must have a PIN).
  • 8 years post registration experience
  • A minimum of 5 years nursing management experience at CNM2/CNS level, 3 of which must have been in palliative care or a similar setting.
  • Possess a Post Graduate Diploma in Palliative Care, or a level 8 (QQI) in health care or PDip/Masters in Palliative Care.
  • Must have the ability to demonstrate respect focused leadership while continuing to meet service demands and changes.
  • Possesses a formal management qualification (i.e. diploma or degree).
  • Must demonstrate experience of operating under Quality Management Systems (e.g. HIQA, CHKS, ISO, JCI).
  • Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills suited to the ethos and environment of the organisation.
  • Driving license and willingness to drive for work.
  • Desire for personal and professional development.
  • Willing to embrace change and is committed to fostering a culture of continuous improvement and learning throughout the service.
  • Committed to the principles of rights-based, person-centred services.
