Job Title: Clinical Nurse Manager
Location: Kilcock, County Kildare
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: €22.50-€24.50 per hour (Rate of pay depends on experience)

Job Purpose:

We are seeking a Clinical Nurse Manager to oversee and maintain the care of residents within our facility. In the absence of the Home Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operations, ensuring compliance with all company policies and legal requirements.

Main Responsibilities:

  1. Ensure all staff contribute to the efficient running of the facility and create a positive atmosphere for residents.
  2. Interact with residents to meet their healthcare needs and resolve any issues.
  3. Report any health concerns and request GP visits when necessary.
  4. Ensure meals meet quality standards and dietary requirements.
  5. Undertake general nursing work and personal care as needed.
  6. Administer prescribed medications and maintain records per NMBI and company guidelines.
  7. Support the Home Manager in auditing Care Plan documentation.
  8. Maintain integrity in dealing with residents' personal and financial matters.
  9. Establish respectful relationships with residents that promote their independence.

Communication:

  1. Maintain effective communication with the Home Manager and staff.
  2. Supervise visits and liaise with GPs to foster good relationships with healthcare professionals.
  3. Ensure clear handover reports are provided to staff.
  4. Participate in staff and client meetings as required.

Budgetary / Financial Control:

  1. Manage and monitor budgets agreed by the Home Manager.
  2. Ensure resources are used sensibly and efficiently.

Human Resources (HR):

  1. Implement all HR policies and procedures.
  2. Assist in staff recruitment and maintain records of working hours.
  3. Monitor sickness absence and ensure compliance with company policies.
  4. Implement training on the company's Equal Opportunities policy.

Marketing:

  1. Promote a positive image of the facility within the community.
  2. Ensure the facility is presented attractively at all times.

Training & Development:

  1. Supervise and instruct junior staff in their roles.
  2. Maintain professional knowledge and competence.

Health & Safety:

  1. Report any infectious illnesses or accidents immediately.
  2. Ensure implementation of health and safety policies and procedures.
  3. Promote safe working practices within the facility.

General:

  1. Adhere to all NMBI guidelines and maintain accurate stock records.
  2. Be on-call for emergencies and cover shifts as needed.
  3. Maintain confidentiality of all information.
  4. Ensure the security of the facility at all times.
  5. Complete other reasonable tasks as assigned.

Skills, Knowledge & Qualifications:

  • Current NMBI Registration
  • Previous management/supervisory experience
  • Strong communication skills
  • Team player with a genuine interest in working with elderly clients
  • Certification of Garda Vetting Unit clearance
  • Experience or qualification in care for the elderly

Desired:

  • Minimum two years of management/supervisory experience
