Caretaker and Maintenance

Role: Caretaker and Maintenance- Balbriggan and Swords

Location: Swords

Working Pattern: 40Hours per Week

Must Hold Clean Driving Licence.

The Role: General Maintenance, Cleaning and Support

• Opening and closing building.
• Day to day maintenance of building
• Carrying out minor repairs (Blocked toilets, painting, replacing light bulbs etc.)
• Maintaining outdoor areas, picking litter, general tidying, cleaning.
• Maintaining and carrying out minor repairs on the Allotments transport will be needed.
• Moving furniture, setting up classrooms,
• Maintaining stock room, putting away deliveries,
• Ensuring all areas are fully stocked such as toilet role dispensers, soap dispensers etc.
• Full compliance with COSHH and colour coding.
• Keeping own store area clean, tidy, colour coded and up to spec. Monitoring cleaning supplies, submitting order requests
• Ensure all areas are cleaned efficiently and in a timely manner to the required standards - this to include weekly and periodic tasks
• Use cleaning chemicals safely as detailed by the Control of Substances Hazardous to health guidelines (COSHH)
• Ensure full working knowledge of all cleaning equipment, materials and agents and use cleaning equipment as directed by the Line Manager only after correct training is given.
• Report immediately any equipment which is faulty, mark as faulty and do not use
• Ensure that the safety signage is used appropriate at all times, e.g. wet floor signs and 'warn' customers where possible
• Ensure that cleaning stores are kept clean and tidy and equipment is stored correctly and safely at all times
• Other Caretaker duties
• Updating maintenance records
• Fully flexible approach needed
• Work with adult education team to ensure a clean, safe learning environment.
