The Client: Local Government body in Lisburn area serving local residents.
The Role:
The post holder acts as a front-line point of contact for the patrons of the Council's Arts Service, based at ISLAND Arts Centre and assists with the day-to-day running of the Arts Service, as required. Operationally, the Arts Attendant is directly responsible to the Arts Administration Coordinator but at times may report to the person acting as Duty Officer of the venue where they are working on any issues of building maintenance e.g. heating, lighting, security, hygiene.
The post holder may assume additional duties relevant to the post as reasonably determined by the Arts Administration Coordinator to address changing business needs or requirements which shall include participation in the interchange of duties to cover breaks, annual leave and other absences.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The following duties are typical for this role. The post-holder may not perform all of the listed duties and/or may be required to perform additional or different duties from those set forth below to address business needs and changing business practices. Considerable and often heavy manual-handling is required, in this post.
- To undertake a range of Front of House duties in accordance with the Council's Customer Care standards, including the operation of the Arts Centre's telephone system; ensuring all calls are correctly dealt with and that all messages received, are recorded and delivered. To check deliveries, sign and take receipt of goods for the Arts Service, as necessary.
- To undertake a range of duties in relation to the selling of tickets for the Arts Service when required, including cash reconciliation and the conveyance and collection of monies and other valuables to and from secure safes on or off site.
- To assist staff, performers and patrons at Arts Service performances and events, immediately reporting any unusual situation that may indicate danger to patrons at such events or the property of Lisburn City Council; to include the completion of relevant incident forms, as required,
- To assist with the general security of ISLAND Arts Centre and its associated storage premises, including the locking and un-locking of these facilities. This includes checking that all lights have been extinguished, bins have been emptied and that such premises are secure, as necessary before leaving.
Requirements:
It is essential that applicants have a minimum of:
QUALIFICATIONS
- - Five GCSE passes at Grade A-C, NVQ Level 2 or equivalent, in a related discipline.
EXPERIENCE
- - A minimum of one years' employment experience gained within an Events and / or Customer Service Environment.
Where applicants do not hold the qualifications as outlined in 1.1 above, they must demonstrate a minimum of three years' experience as outlined in 1.2 above.
- - It is essential that applicants hold a full (i.e. not provisional) and current UK driving licence and access to a car or * have access to a means of transport which would enable the applicant to carry out the duties of the post. *

It is desirable that applicants hold:
1.4 - A current First Aid certificate
Rate of Pay: £12.85 p/hr
