Our client, a leading provider top-quality products and exceptional service to the decorating, hardware, homeware, and gardening markets across Ireland, are looking for a energetic and driver Area Sales Manager to join their team and lead the business development and sales across Munster area. The ideal candidate must work with agility and resilience, address risks and issues tactfully, and possess exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills. We are looking for a strategic thinker who can make decisions that maximise profit for our client.

About The Role:

The Area Sales Manager will drive and nurture sales, develop sales strategies, and expand our market share.

They will manage relationships, maximise sales performance and profit for an extensive portfolio of key

customers in the Munster area, and ensure customer satisfaction. This includes sustaining long-term

relationships, implementing a sales management process, and addressing under performance with effective

strategies. The goal is to ensure customer satisfaction and growth in customer business

with the company.

As a well-qualified and experienced account manager, you will:

- enhance account management

- lead the sales team by example

- address customer needs

- respond to queries promptly while maximising sales opportunities

- you will manage a team of merchandisers, coach and mentor sales and customer services team members

- explore new opportunities from existing customers and leads from various sources.

Main Areas of Responsibility:

Sales:

  • Implement a sales strategy and management process to increase revenue by at least 15% year on year.
  • Set sales targets for individual stores to maximise potential and growth.
  • Prioritise key customers and prospects based on opportunity, retention risk, and performance against sales targets.
  • Monitor and analyse the performance of the portfolio, addressing underperformance proactively.
  • Progress and close sales through various activities, including outbound telesales, face-to-face, and virtual meetings.

Customer Relations:

  • Serve as the lead Area Sales contact for a portfolio of key customers across the assigned region.
  • Ensure high customer satisfaction and engagement, establish long-term relationships, and respond to queries promptly.
  • Managed customer complaints, ensuring quick resolution and supporting junior colleagues during challenging conversations.

Business Development:

  • Identify new viable sales opportunities with new and existing customers.
  • Promote the organisation's values and commitment to customer satisfaction.

Sales Development:

  • Contribute to expanding all aspects of sales, including web sales.
  • Analyse business KPIs and data to set and meet targets for self and junior sales team members.
  • Coach and mentor sales and customer service colleagues, sharing successful strategies and case studies.

Process Development:

  • Demonstrate commitment to the Sales standard operating procedure, ensuring a high standard from introduction to post-sale care.
  • Improve policies, standards, and processes to enhance service and sales experience.

Sales Market:

  • Monitor the market, understand competition, and create a competitive edge for Relay Global.
  • Convey business goals into tangible sales results.
