Hours: Full-Time and Part-Time

Pay Rate / Salary: €42,000 - €50,000 per annum (inclusive of Sleepover Allowance) plus premium payments for Saturdays, Sundays and Bank Holidays

About the Role:

The Aftercare Care Worker/Social Care Worker will support young adults aged 18+ transitioning from residential care into independent living. The role focuses on promoting independence, life skills development, and positive outcomes through person-centred, outcomes-focused plans. Fully CORU-registered candidates will use the title Social Care Worker, while non-CORU registered candidates will use the title Aftercare Worker.

Key duties:

  • Provide direct support in line with Aftercare plans across accommodation, education, employment, health, and social development.
  • Support independent living skills including budgeting, cooking, cleaning, household management, and accessing services.
  • Build professional relationships, maintain boundaries and function as a positive role model.
  • Support Aftercare planning, key working sessions, structured interventions, and case reviews.
  • Promote social inclusion, community integration and positive family and social connections where appropriate.
  • Maintain accurate records, documentation, financial records, and young adult files in line with organisational procedures and GDPR.
  • Support health and safety, safeguarding, risk management, incident reporting, and safety checks.
  • Participate in supervision, team meetings, service development, training and collaborative work with colleagues, management, and external agencies.

Essential criteria:

  • Minimum Level 7 qualification in Social Care, Applied Social Studies, Social Work or equivalent.
  • Minimum 1 years' experience in a residential or Aftercare setting.
  • Category B full driving licence preferable.
  • Fully CORU-registered candidates will use the title Social Care Worker; non-CORU registered candidates will use the title Aftercare Worker.
  • Full driver's licence would be desirable
