Job description
Our client, a leading manufacturing company, has a vacancy for a PLC Engineer at their site in Co Fermanagh.
The company has been operating since the 1970's and they are an integral part of larger group. They are constantly evolving through technical innovation, and they are now at the forefront of providing pioneering, cost effective, construction solutions designed to meet the needs of any construction project.
The Role:
As a PLC Engineer, you will be required to carry out a variety of duties including
- Maintaining and upgrading automated systems in line with company engineering standards.
- Providing engineering and control systems support across parts of the business
- Supporting the commissioning and start-up of new production equipment and lines.
- Identifying and implementing automation improvements to increase productivity, safety, and reliability.
- Assisting with the design and implementation of electrical and control system modifications.
- Maintaining up-to-date documentation, technical records, and SOPs.
- Ensuring compliance with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and ISO 50001 standards.
- Participating in training and supporting a strong culture of safety and continuous improvement.
Hours of work:
- Mon - Thurs 8am - 5.30pm and Fri 8am - 4pm
- 42hrs per week
Requirements for the successful PLC Engineer:
- Degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, Instrumentation, Mechatronics, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 3-5 years' previous experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Strong hands-on experience with Siemens PLC systems, including Step 7, TIA Portal, and WinCC.
- Experience working with industrial instrumentation and process control systems.
- Knowledge of Profibus, Profinet, Industrial Ethernet, and related communication protocols.
- Experience with VFDs, motor control systems, and MCCs.
