Job Title: Band 2 Freight Driver

Location: Holywell Hospital Site

Pay Rate: £12.71

Key Result Areas / Main Responsibilities

• Transport pharmacy items, sterile equipment (HSDU), mail, furniture and other goods between hospitals and community facilities.
• Provide relief cover for passenger vehicles where appropriately licensed.
• Drive Trust vehicles safely, legally and responsibly, ensuring goods are secure and deliveries are timely.
• Plan delivery schedules efficiently and provide a customer-focused service.
• Carry out daily vehicle checks, basic maintenance, cleaning and minor running repairs.
• Operate tail lifts safely following training.
• Follow Trust health, safety and operational procedures.
• Complete all required delivery, collection and vehicle records, including daily and monthly log sheets.
• Monitor and report vehicle defects or faults immediately to the Transport Department.
• Undertake other transport and delivery duties as required.

Criteria

• Hold a full, current UK driving licence with Category B entitlement and no restrictions (excluding R plates).

• Applicants unable to drive due to disability may meet this requirement through an alternative form of transport approved by the Trust.

Experience

• Experience of carrying out multi-drop deliveries.

Skills / Abilities

• Successfully complete the Trust Driving Test, administered by the Transport Department in a suitable Trust vehicle.
