Payroll Administrator

Pay Rate: €15.50 per hour
Contract: Long-term temporary opportunity

Location: Burnfoot, Donegal
Hours: Full-time

About the Role

The successful candidate will provide essential administrative and data-processing support to the payroll team, helping to ensure employee information, timesheets and payroll records are accurate and up to date.

This role would suit someone with strong Excel skills who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and can manage a varied administrative workload with accuracy and professionalism.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day administrative support to the payroll department.
  • Enter, update and maintain employee and payroll information accurately.
  • Review timesheets and other payroll documentation for completeness.
  • Prepare spreadsheets, reports and supporting payroll information.
  • Assist with the collation and verification of data ahead of payroll deadlines.
  • Respond to routine payroll and administrative queries.
  • Liaise with employees, managers and internal departments to obtain missing information.
  • Maintain organised electronic and paper filing systems.
  • Process confidential employee information securely and professionally.
  • Monitor shared inboxes and direct queries to the appropriate team member.
  • Support the Payroll Officers with reconciliations, reports and general administration.
  • Identify errors or inconsistencies and escalate them promptly.
  • Assist with other administrative duties as required by the payroll department.

Essential Criteria

  • Strong Excel skills, including experience working with spreadsheets and large volumes of data.
  • Previous experience in an administrative, data-entry or office-based role.
  • Experience working in a busy, fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organisational and administrative skills.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Proactive and intuitive approach to work.
  • Ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Professional approach to handling confidential information.

Desirable Criteria

  • Previous experience supporting a payroll, finance or HR department.
  • Experience reviewing timesheets or employee records.
  • Familiarity with payroll or time management systems.
