Job description

Job Title: Clerical Officer

Location: Ballymena

Duration: Ongoing

Rate of Pay: £12.71

Hours: 15 (Wednesday and Thursday)

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide general clerical and administrative support.
  • Input, update, and retrieve information using computer systems.
  • Undertake reception duties and respond to telephone and email enquiries.
  • Prepare, photocopy, distribute, and file documents and correspondence.
  • Open, sort, and distribute incoming mail.
  • Maintain accurate records and filing systems.
  • Assist in the production of reports and statistical information.
  • Monitor and order stationery and office supplies.
  • Operate office equipment as required.
  • Handle petty cash and banking duties where necessary.
  • Maintain confidentiality in line with policies and legislation.
  • Liaise with internal departments and external organisations.
  • Provide cover for colleagues during absences and support team workload.
  • Attend relevant training and undertake other duties appropriate to the grade.

Essential Criteria

Applicants must have either:

  • 3 GCSEs (Grades A*-C), including English; or
  • GCSE English (Grade A*-C) plus 1 year's paid clerical experience in an office environment.

Experience must include Microsoft Office and at least five of the following:

  • Word processing
  • Filing
  • Telephone duties
  • Photocopying
  • Data input
  • Data extraction
  • Spreadsheets

Successful candidates may need to apply for an Access NI Certificate with Staffline regardless of if you already have a valid certificate.
