Staffline Recruitment Ireland is seeking an experienced Transport & Distribution Manager on behalf of a leading Irish retail and distribution business. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on transport professional to take ownership of a busy delivery operation, leading a team of drivers while ensuring exceptional service, operational efficiency, and full regulatory compliance.

This role is ideal for a proactive leader who thrives in a fast-moving environment and enjoys balancing strategic planning with day-to-day operational management. You will play a key role in ensuring products are delivered safely, efficiently, and on time while driving continuous improvement across fleet performance, customer service, compliance, and cost control.

Key Responsibilities

Fleet, Compliance & Safety

  • Ensure full RSA compliance, including driver hours, tachograph management, licensing, CVRTs, and fleet maintenance.
  • Maintain accurate transport records and ensure audit readiness.
  • Lead Health & Safety initiatives, risk assessments, vehicle inspections, and incident investigations.

Transport Operations

  • Manage daily transport operations, route planning, and delivery performance.
  • Drive efficiencies in fuel usage, fleet costs, servicing, and routing.
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities across the distribution function.

Team Leadership & Communication

  • Lead, develop, and support a team of drivers through coaching, training, and performance management.
  • Coordinate effectively with warehouse, customer service, and management teams.
  • Act as the escalation point for complex delivery and customer service issues.

Candidate Requirements

  • 3+ years' experience in Transport, Distribution, or Logistics Management.
  • Valid Transport Manager CPC and Full C Licence.
  • Strong knowledge of RSA regulations, driver hours, tachographs, and transport compliance.
  • Experience managing drivers, fleet operations, and transport performance.
  • Proficient with transport management and routing systems.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced operational environment.
