Are you a driven, commercially minded individual who enjoys building relationships and delivering excellent customer service? We are seeking a Retail Counter Sales Representative to join a well-established and busy hardware and building supplies business. This is a full-time, permanent role, based in Newcastle West, Co. Limerick.
Organisation
Our client is a reputable and growing supplier within the hardware and building materials sector, known for their strong trade relationships and commitment to customer service. Supporting both trade professionals and the general public, they pride themselves on product knowledge, reliability, and a proactive approach to sales. Due to continued growth, they are now seeking a motivated and target-driven individual to join their team and support both internal and external sales functions.
Responsibilities
As a key member of the team, you will:
- Assisting customers with product enquiries and providing helpful advice and recommendations.
- Handling customer queries in person, by phone, and via email in a professional and friendly manner.
- Replenishing stock and ensuring products are well presented and readily available.
- Maintaining a clean, organised, and welcoming store environment.
- Processing sales transactions accurately, including cash, card, and account payments.
- Supporting stock control activities, including stock checks and inventory counts.
- Updating product information, pricing, and labels as required.
- Working across different areas of the store to support daily operations.
- Following company policies and health & safety procedures at all times.
Benefits

Criteria
- Previous experience in sales, hardware, building materials, or a similar customer-facing environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a keen customer focus.
- Commercially minded, self-motivated, and capable of working independently while managing workload effectively and working towards targets.
- Comfortable using CRM systems and online tools
- Able to reliably commute to Newcastle West, Co. Limerick, or relocate prior to starting.
