Staffline are recruiting on behalf of NHSCT for a Band 4 Radiology Administration Team Lead required on a temporary basis based in Antrim

Role: Band 4 Radiology Administration Team Lead

Rate of Pay: £14.06

Location: Antrim

Hours: 37.5 hours

Duration: Temporary ongoing

The postholder will be responsible for the daily operational management and training of administration staff and support in the Department of Antrim Hospital, Radiology. Providing administrative support to the Admin manager, Radiology Patient Access Manager, Site Lead Radiographer and Consultant Radiologists within Antrim Hospital.

  • Provide administrative/secretarial and management support to the senior staff in the Department of Radiology. Arrange, attend and provide administrative/ secretarial support for meetings including preparation of agendas and minutes.
  • Responsible for the co-ordination and management of admin Radiology staff in Antrim. Allocating duties and the organisation of planned leave ensuring adequate cover during staff absence and completing rotas as necessary.
  • Manage in liaison with the admin manager sick leave, annual leave and training competencies for admin staff.
  • To provide induction and training for staff within the Antrim radiology department and monitor progress/development in liaison with the PACS manager and radiology patient access manager. To provide when required training on the use of the various computer systems used within each area.
  • Daily/Urgent report run - Monitoring of worklist throughout the day and printing, sorting and communicating reports including urgent reports by email or phone if required.
  • Allocation of scans for reporting to radiologists including expediting any urgent requests via the Allocation email account.
  • Participate in the Radiographer of the Day (ROD) Co-ordinator role on a rota basis.
  • Private Image upload using IEP system and export images as appropriate.
  • To liaise with radiology admin manager to ensure the routine work of the department is carried out effectively. Participate in development and improvement of services.
  • Ensure provision of an efficient and effective service to ensure completion of work load within timescales.
  • Maintain oversight of daily operational admin processes within Antrim Radiology using the Radiology information system to ensure specified timeframes are met. Escalating issues to radiology patient access manager.
  • Prioritisation of administrative duties to ensure optimisation of appointment waiting times.
  • Ensure good data quality in line with Trust Processes.
  • To liaise with GP Practices and multidisciplinary teams regarding queries and follow up information as and when required.
  • To liaise with other Radiology staff/departments to ensure efficient service provision.
  • Keep staff within the team appraised of new policies and legislation within the Trust.
  • Develop knowledge for role of appropriate legislation applicable to the Radiology Department, including the Ionising Radiation (Medical Exposure) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2018 (IR[ME]R 2018) and the Ionising Radiations Regulations (IRR) 2017. Ensuring compliance with the Employers procedures for admin staff.
  • Participate in required training programmes as appropriate ensuring all staff with the admin team have completed all mandatory training.
  • Maintain an awareness of the Integrated Elective Access Protocol IEAP.
  • Participate in audit programmes alongside the QA radiographer as required by Radiology Services.
  • Ensure adequate levels of supplies are maintained within Antrim Radiology Admin offices for efficient daily operation.
  • Liaise with service users in a courteous and professional manner.
  • To undertake other duties as may be required from time to time that are consistent with the responsibilities of the grade.

Essential Criteria:

  • HND/HNC in Business or finance plus 2 years radiology administration experience plus English Language GCSE grade A - C

Or

  • 4 GCSE's to include English and Maths plus 2 years radiology administration experience
  • Have a working knowledge of Radiology Information systems
  • Ability to work Flexibly - shift work will including working evenings/weekends/bank holidays
