Our client Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council are currently looking for a Destination Marketing Campaign Officer to join their team.
Main Purpose of Post
- To assist the Marketing Officer with the review, development and implementation of the marketing plan the Causeway Coast and Glens Destination.
- Assist the Marketing Officer in developing and implementing a brand communication strategy and the tourism marketing communications plan.
- Assist the Marketing Officer on the development and implementation of performance measurement techniques such as effectiveness of marketing campaigns, devising necessary procedures to measure success in terms of driving economic benefits to the tourism industry.
- Ensure that the department complies with all statutory and legislative requirements by adhering to these requirements and working in accordance with good governance and health and safety requirements.
- Ensure that all responsibilities are carried out in a timely and effective manner and that general confidentiality is maintained in all areas relating to the work of the Council.
Main duties and responsibilities
- Develop new and innovative marketing campaigns for the destination that best suit the key target segments that are on plan and to budget.
- Initiate, organise, implement and participate in trade and consumer promotions, meeting and convention marketplaces, media tours and industry familiarization trips.
- To assist in creative content for the design and publication of tourism literature and promotional materials including copy-writing, sourcing of photography and advertising support.
- Provide detailed marketing support to the local tourism and recreation industry.
- Responsible for the development and maintenance of Council's tourism destination website, to include content management, web optimisation and performance measurement.
- Responsible for the promotion and development of themed linkages including heritage trails, public art, craft trails, etc.
- To work and liaise with neighbouring Councils to ensure marketing efforts are co-ordinated and to implement the promotion of the wider Causeway Coastal Route.
- To assist with the setting up and dissemination of tourism research for the Borough as relevant to the Destination Management Plan. To record, report on and service the administration of same.
- To provide regular and adhoc reports to the Marketing Officer, Tourism Destination Manager and Head of Tourism and Recreation.
- To assist with industry consultations and seminars for tourism in the Borough.
- To prepare and advise on funding applications / grant claims in conjunction with the funding unit and liaise with relevant funding bodies.
- To manage the tourism photographic library.
- Deputise in the absence of the Marketing Officer on relevant committees, groups or organisations (to include assessment of funding applications), including Destination Management, marketing Task and Finish group.
Essential Criteria
Applicants must, at the closing date for receipt of application forms, have either:
- A third level qualification in Marketing and be able to demonstrate, on the application form, by providing personal and specific examples, at least one year's experience in general marketing and destination marketing campaigns undertaking each of the areas listed a - c below:
- Planning and Development;
- Delivery;
- Analysis and Evaluation.
OR
- Consideration will be given to candidates who do not have a third level qualification but can demonstrate, on the application form by providing personal and specific examples two years' experience in general marketing and destination marketing campaigns undertaking each of the areas listed a - c above.
AND
All applicants must demonstrate one year's experience in the following areas:
- Working in collaboration with a range of stakeholders across services and sectors.
- The improvement of service delivery.
Using a number of digital/social media channels to include Facebook, Instagram and Twitter
