Fixed term contract : 6 months

Hours of work: 8am - 5pm, Mon - Fri

Salary depending on experience

The successful candidate will play a key role in processing weekly and monthly payroll for approximately 350 employees. Ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency, supporting payroll system improvements and collaborate with internal teams

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process weekly, bi-weekly, and monthly payroll accurately and on time.
  • Ensure compliance with payroll policies, statutory requirements and reporting obligations.
  • Review payroll data including pay elements, deductions and statutory payments.
  • Assist in completing payroll reconciliations and resolving discrepancies.
  • Submit payments to the bank and ensure payslips are distributed.
  • Maintain accurate payroll records and generate required reports for Finance.
  • Ensure that the Time and Attendance system is up to date.
  • Train relevant personnel on using the Time Management System.
  • Maintain and update holiday and absence records for all employees.
  • Conduct payroll system reviews to identify inefficiencies and recommend improvements.
  • Maintain employee holiday, absence and leave records.
  • Assist in reviewing payroll systems and identifying opportunities for improvement.
  • Support system upgrades, data migration, and implementation of new payroll software.
  • Document payroll procedures and provide user training as needed.
  • Support seamless integration of payroll software with HR and finance systems.
  • Complete and submit monthly overtime, headcount, and absence reports.
  • Administer staff transfers between cost centres.
  • Handle employee payroll queries and issue relevant correspondence.
  • Participate in payroll-related projects and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, accuracy and compliance.
  • Prepare and submit monthly reports including overtime, headcount and absence statistics.
  • Administer employee transfers between cost centres within the payroll system.
  • Respond to employee payroll queries and issue related correspondence.
  • Provide administration support to the HR Department where required.
  • To set a positive example in all areas of compliance and encourage a culture of ownership and personal responsibility.
  • To promote health and safety awareness of employees and contractors.

Who We're Looking For:

Essential Skills & Experience:

  • Proven experience in processing payroll in a large organisation.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills; pivot tables, vlookups and graphs
  • High level of confidentiality and understanding of data protection requirements.
  • Strong numerical and analytical ability with excellent attention to detail.
  • Effective time management with the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to interact with employees at all levels.
  • Familiarity with payroll software and systems.
  • Confidentiality and data protection.
