Location: Derry/Londonderry

Salary: Competitive (dependent on experience)

Hours: Full-time | Early Finish Friday

Role Overview

As a Quantity Surveyor, you'll play a key role in building and refurbishment projects, managing costs from early design through to completion. You'll ensure projects meet legal and quality standards while providing value for money to clients and maintaining company profit margins.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities in collaboration with architects and/or clients

  • Undertake cost analysis for repair and maintenance project work

  • Assist in establishing client requirements and conducting feasibility studies

  • Perform risk, value management, and cost control activities

  • Advise on procurement strategies

  • Identify, analyse, and develop responses to commercial risks

  • Prepare and analyse costings for tenders

  • Allocate work to subcontractors

  • Provide advice on contractual claims

  • Analyse project outcomes and produce detailed progress reports

  • Value completed work and arrange payments

  • Maintain awareness of current building contracts and their applications

  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations

Essential Requirements

Qualifications

  • Degree in Quantity Surveying or equivalent professional qualification

Experience

  • Minimum 3 years' post-qualification experience in a quantity surveying role

  • Proven track record in maintenance and minor works contracts

  • Experience managing high-volume works orders and planned works

  • Strong understanding of Schedule of Rates pricing and measured term contracts

Skills and Attributes

  • Excellent numerical and analytical skills with strong attention to detail

  • Strong negotiation and communication abilities

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure

  • Self-motivated and able to work independently or as part of a team

  • Full UK driving licence
