HGV Mechanic

Job Title: Heavy Vehicle Mechanic / Maintenance Technician

Location: Monaghan, Co. Monaghan

Job Purpose

To carry out maintenance, preventative maintenance, and breakdown repair work as directed by the Supervisor, ensuring all HGV fleet and associated equipment remain fully operational while minimising downtime.

Key Responsibilities

Maintenance & Repairs

· Perform maintenance and repairs on all HGV fleet vehicles and trailers

· Diagnose and repair faults in engines, gearboxes, hydraulic systems, and braking systems

· Carry out scheduled servicing in line with maintenance plans

· Complete weekly and monthly inspection checklists

Preventative Maintenance

· Conduct routine preventative maintenance to reduce equipment failure

· Maintain accurate servicing schedules and records

Quality & Standards

· Ensure all work is completed to the required quality standards

· Report defects, non-conformance's, or issues promptly

· Work in accordance with relevant ISO standards and company accreditation

Communication & Teamwork

· Maintain effective communication within the department and across the site

Preferred Qualifications & Experience

· Qualified Heavy Vehicle Mechanic

· Minimum of 3 years' experience in a similar role

Additional Requirements

· Full, clean driver's licence

· Manual Handling Certificate / Safe Pass

· Valid authorisation to work in the EU
