Home Support Supervisor - North County Dublin (CHO9)
Full-time | 5 over 7 days | On call 7:00am-10:00pm | Competitive salary and benefits
Reporting Line: Senior Operations Manager
Supported by: Clinical Governance Lead for clinical client care issues
Locations you will cover : Bayside, Sutton, Howth Peninsula, Baldoyle, Stapolin, Clongriffin, Swords, Malahide, Donabate, Portrane, Skerries, Balbriggan, Rush, Lusk.
This is more than a supervisory role. It is a vocation. We are seeking a committed professional to lead, support and inspire carers, ensuring vulnerable clients receive high-quality, person-centred care while delivering operational excellence.
Essential Requirements
- Minimum 2 years experience as a Home Support Worker or Healthcare Assistant in home care or healthcare
- Full Irish driving licence and access to a personal car
- Strong knowledge of risk management, care planning and data management systems
- Excellent communication, problem-solving and interpersonal skills
- Flexibility, responsiveness and accountability
- Passionate about person-centred care and continuous quality improvement
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
- Willingness to travel within the region as required as per locations stated above.
- QQI Level 6 qualification
- HSELand certifications and courses
- 1 year supervisory experience in healthcare/homecare desirable
Key Responsibilities
Client-Facing and Care Oversight
- Conduct care supervision visits and risk assessments in clients' homes
- Devise and implement care plans, ensuring the right carer is assigned to each client
- Conduct quality assurance checks, spot checks and client reviews in line with internal andHSE standards
- 4 spot checks and 4 supervisions per quarter on carers
- National Carer competency assessments for QQI Level 6 or above
- 4 client reviews and 4 quality assurance checks per quarter
- Participate in shadow calls with new staff for 8 hours per staff member
- Provide coverage for shifts during sick leave, annual leave or emergencies
Team Leadership and Support
- Line manage, supervise and support carers to ensure best possible care delivery
- Conduct surprise checks on staff during client visits to monitor standards and compliance
- Maintain accurate supervision and care records including tasks undertaken and any financial transactions
- Provide guidance on complex care tasks and participate in staff training
- Build and sustain relationships with clients, families and healthcare professionals
- Address concerns promptly to optimise client satisfaction, outcomes and operational efficiency
Operational and Compliance Duties
- Ensure adherence to internal policies, procedures and Quality Management System
- Report incidents accurately using National Incident Reporting Forms (NIRFs)
- Participate in HSE or family complaint responses and escalate as appropriate to Senior Operations Manager or Clinical Governance Lead
- Ensure all carers scheduled are fully compliant with training and certification requirements
