Registered Manager
Location: Dromore area
Salary: From £50,000 per year
Contract: Full‑time, Permanent
Working Pattern: In‑person
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Registered Manager to lead a small, therapeutic children's residential home supporting up to two children aged 6-11. This service offers medium‑ to long‑term placements within a nurturing, structured and trauma‑informed environment.
About the Role
The Registered Manager will be responsible for the day‑to‑day leadership and regulation of the home, ensuring the highest standards of safeguarding, care and compliance. You will:
- Lead and support a skilled residential care team
- Ensure full compliance with The Children's Homes Regulations (NI) 2005 and Minimum Standards (2023)
- Maintain a safe, nurturing, trauma‑informed environment
- Work closely with Social Workers, Trust representatives, families, schools and a multidisciplinary clinical team
- Oversee placement planning, supervision, reflective practice and quality assurance
- Manage rotas, budgets, reporting and regulatory documentation
- Promote continuous improvement and a strong safeguarding culture
- Represent the home at professional meetings and reviews
Essential Criteria
- Degree in Social Work
- NISCC registration
- Full UK driving licence
- Minimum 3 years post‑qualification experience
- At least 5 years' experience in residential childcare or similar
- Minimum 2 years' team management/leadership experience
- Strong knowledge of trauma‑informed practice, safeguarding and positive behaviour support
- Experience supervising staff and leading teams
- Good understanding of inspection frameworks, risk management and quality assurance
- Excellent organisational and communication skills
Desirable
- Experience as Deputy or Registered Manager in a children's home
- Experience in multidisciplinary planning
- Knowledge of TCI or similar behaviour support models
