To support the delivery of a high-quality catering service by assisting with food preparation, meal service, and maintaining a clean, safe, and hygienic kitchen environment in line with health and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

Food Preparation & Service

• Assist with the preparation of basic food items such as sandwiches, salads, and beverages

• Portion and serve meals to patients, staff, and visitors in a courteous manner

• Support the assembly and delivery of food trolleys to hospital wards

• Help ensure meals meet dietary and nutritional requirements where instructed

Cleaning & Hygiene

• Clean and sanitise kitchen surfaces, equipment, and utensils

• Wash dishes and operate dishwashing equipment safely

• Maintain high standards of cleanliness in all kitchen and service areas

• Follow food safety procedures, including correct storage, temperature control, and labeling

General Duties

• Assist with receiving, storing, and rotating stock

• Dispose of waste safely and in line with infection control policies

• Report any faults, hazards, or issues to supervisors

• Work effectively as part of a team to ensure a smooth and efficient catering service
