Education Support Assistant

Our client, Northern Regional College in Ballymena is seeking a motivated Education Support Assistant to support students in reaching their full potential. This role offers the chance to work in a positive, inclusive learning environment, providing one-to-one and small group support alongside teaching staff to help students overcome challenges and succeed in their studies.

Role: Education Support Assistant

Location: Ballymena Campus, Northern Regional College

Part Time: Thursday and Friday, 9:00am-12:15pm

Rate: £13.62 per hour

Contract: Temporary, until June 2026

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide one-to-one and small group support to students with additional learning needs.
• Assist students in developing study skills, organisation, and confidence.
• Support inclusive teaching in classrooms and practical sessions.
• Encourage student independence while offering guidance and reassurance.
• Maintain accurate records of student progress, attendance, and support.
• Create and maintain a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment for all students.
• Collaborate with tutors and support teams to implement individual learning plans and ensure effective support strategies.

Requirements:

• GCSE Maths & English Language (Grade A-C) or equivalent.
• NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Education, Care, or a related field or at least 12 months' experience in:
  • One-to-one support with young people or adults in FE/HE or school settings
  • Supporting individuals with disabilities or additional learning barriers
  • Delivering study skills in an educational or training environment

An Enhanced Disclosure Check through Access NI is required as part of the recruitment process.
