Northern Ireland Housing Exectuive requires a Mechanical Inspector, based in Ballymena.
Role: Mechanical Inspector
Rate of Pay: £16.90
Location: Ballymena
Hours: 37 (9am-5pm)
Duties and Responsibilities
Maintain a daily site diary and submit weekly electronic inspection reports, including Health & Safety observations.
Inspect construction works to ensure compliance with specifications, regulations, workmanship, and materials.
Report non-compliance or urgent Health & Safety issues immediately to the Contract Administrator or Project Manager.
Carry out measurements of works when required.
Inform the Project Manager of variations, issues, or potential compensation events.
Support the handover process and provide accurate reports and updates.
Record and manage site information using mobile and desktop systems in line with IT policies.
Undertake other duties relevant to the role.
General Responsibilities
Complete required training and development.
Follow organisational HR policies and procedures.
Support the objectives of the Northern Ireland Housing Executive.
Represent the organisation at meetings and with external stakeholders.
Prepare management information and statutory reports when required.
Communicate effectively with tenants, the public, and partner organisations.
Contribute to high-quality service delivery and continuous improvement.
Ensure compliance with Data Protection and Equality legislation.
Participate in forums, working groups, and tenant consultations as required.
Requirements and Qualifications:
- NVQ Level 3 Plumbing & Heating, or equivalent level 3
qualification in Plumbing or Heating (e.g. Advanced City & Guild
Craft in Plumbing and Heating)
- A degree or equivalent Level 6* qualification in a
Building/Construction related discipline PLUS 1 year's relevant
experience working within a Building/Construction Function
OR
- A BTEC Higher or equivalent Level 5* qualification in a
Building/Construction related discipline PLUS 2 years' relevant
experience working within a Building/Construction function
OR
- Can demonstrate equivalent continuing professional
development/experiential learning AND at least 4 years' relevant
experience working within a Building/Construction function.
