School Receptionist | Dublin 15

We are seeking a professional, welcoming and highly organised School Receptionist to join the administrative team of a well established and reputable secondary school located in Dublin 15. This is a pivotal front-of-house role in a busy school environment, where you will act as the first point of contact for students, parents, staff and visitors.

The successful candidate will combine excellent customer service skills with strong administrative ability, discretion, and a calm, supportive presence - particularly when assisting students.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Act as the first point of contact for parents, students, staff, and visitors to the school.
  • Welcome all visitors in a professional and friendly manner, ensuring sign-in and sign-out procedures are completed in line with safeguarding requirements.
  • Manage and field incoming telephone calls, emails, and general enquiries efficiently and courteously.
  • Provide accurate information and direct enquiries to the appropriate members of staff as required.
  • Respond to student needs with care, discretion, and empathy.
  • Support students who are unwell, distressed, or require referral to pastoral staff, including Year Heads, Tutors, the Chaplain and Guidance Counsellor.
  • Assists with the care and supervision of sick or injured students as required
  • Provide administrative support to Year Heads, Tutors, and Senior Management as needed
  • Managing the main College email account.
  • Field incoming telephone queries and redirect them to the appropriate staff members where necessary.
  • Respond to student queries throughout the school day in a professional and supportive manner.
  • Issue communications to parents when required via iClass, VSware or email.
  • Manage daily incoming and outgoing post.
  • Assist with the administration and distribution of important correspondence, including fee invoices, cards (Christmas), and other communications to parents and/or staff.
  • Adhere strictly to the school's safeguarding, data protection, and confidentiality policies at all times.

Interested candidates will meet the following requirements:

  • Previous experience in a receptionist or administrative role, preferably within a school or similar professional environment.
  • A strong commitment to confidentiality, with the ability to handle sensitive information relating to students, parents, and staff with discretion and professionalism.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A high level of proficiency in Microsoft Office is essential.
  • A Frist Aid qualification will be highly desirable.
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills.
  • A professional, friendly, and approachable manner.
  • Ability to remain calm and effective under pressure.

This is a fantastic opportunity to secure a varied and engaging role where the successful candidate will work at the heart of this school and play a pivotal role in supporting student well being and the wider school community.

This is a permanent, full-time position that will be based fully onsite with working hours of 8.00am - 4.30pm, Monday to Friday. A salary in the region of €35,000 - €40,000 will be payable, depending on experience.
