Senior Day Support Worker - Full Time

Adult Day Services - Day Opportunities (Estate / Horticulture Setting)
🕒 Hours: 40 hours per week
📄 Contract: Permanent
💷 Salary: From £27,393 per annum (increasing with service)

🗓 Closing Date: Friday 23 January 2026 (4pm)


About the Role

We are recruiting a Senior Day Support Worker to support adults with learning disabilities and complex needs within a day opportunities service, including outdoor and horticulture-based activities.

Working alongside the Team Leader, you will help deliver person-centred, meaningful day activities using a Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) approach. The role may involve personal care and, where required, the use of de-escalation or physical intervention as a last resort.


Key Responsibilities

  • Support adults to engage in meaningful day and work-based activities

  • Deliver person-centred care that promotes independence, dignity, and choice

  • Assist with care planning, reviews, and daily support programmes

  • Support and mentor staff and volunteers

  • Ensure safe working practices, safeguarding, and accurate record keeping

  • Contribute to the day-to-day running of the service in the absence of the Team Leader


Essential Criteria

  • QCF Level 3 qualification in Health & Social Care (or equivalent)

  • Minimum 1 year's experience in a care or educational support role

  • Experience supporting individuals with complex needs and challenging behaviour

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills

  • Willingness to provide personal care

  • Registered or willing to register with NISCC

  • Flexible to work required hours
