About the Role
We are currently recruiting a Maintenance Officer to join our Housing Services team. This is a key role ensuring repairs and maintenance to Housing Executive homes are delivered on time, to high-quality standards, and within budget. You will work closely with contractors, tenants, and internal teams, providing excellent customer service and technical support across a wide range of property-related issues.

Key Responsibilities
As a Maintenance Officer, you will:
Carry out inspections of domestic and commercial Housing Executive properties, including pre- and post-repair checks, change of tenancy inspections, and fire/flood damage assessments.
Ensure works carried out by contractors meet required standards and authorise payments when complete.
Raise and manage repair orders, including emergency works such as securing properties after PSNI forced entry.
Work closely with contractors, Patch Managers, Lettings Managers, Customer Service Unit staff, and other technical specialists.
Provide tenants with clear updates on repair progress and advise on maintenance responsibilities.
Support planned maintenance schemes and minor adaptations for tenants' needs.
Identify recoverable costs and assist with estate and public liability inspections.
Maintain accurate electronic and written records in line with organisational requirements.
Deputise for the Area Maintenance Manager when required.
What We're Looking For
Applicants must meet one of the following essential criteria:
Experience & Qualifications (Essential)
Option A:
Bachelor's Degree in Building Studies (or equivalent)
+ 1 year's relevant experience in the design, improvement, or maintenance of domestic properties
OR
Option B:
BTEC Higher Diploma in Building Studies (Level 4 equivalent)
+ 2 years' relevant experience
OR
Option C:
4 years' relevant experience working on the design, improvement, or maintenance of domestic properties
Applicants must clearly detail dates, years, and examples of their relevant experience.
Additional Essential Criteria
Valid driving licence or access to transport to fulfil job requirements.

Ability to use technical knowledge in practical situations.

Accurate and timely record-keeping skills.
