Transport Planner

TRANSPORT PLANNER | CORK | PERMANENT |

Our client based in Cork is looking for an experienced Transport Planner to join their team.

THE CANDIDATE |

The ideal candidate for the Transport Planner role is highly organised, detail-oriented, and capable of managing planning for specific customer groups and/or regions. They should have strong communication skills, a solid understanding of the company's values, policies, and services, and the ability to adapt to changing needs

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES|

• Responsible for preparing and ensuring the accuracy of daily transport plans
• Collaborate with other planners to share resources and resolve planning issues.
• Communicate daily instructions clearly to drivers and work with Administrators to ensure high-quality customer service, including timely reporting and paperwork.
• Monitor driver hours to ensure balanced workdays and coordinates leave requests to maintain adequate staffing.
• Support the Transport Admin team as needed and ensure drivers receive timely updates on specific instructions.
• Escalate planning or safety concerns to the Transport Manager as necessary.
• Continuously seek improvements in planning processes and performance metrics.
• Maintain a focus on customer service and company values, identifying opportunities for operational enhancements.
• Participate in meetings and reports safety or quality risks to management.

REQUIREMENTS |

• Degree in Transport & Logistics OR equivalent relevant experience
• Minimum 2 year's experience in a similar role
