The Strategy and Transformation team within An Garda Síochána are looking to recruit suitably qualified and experienced professionals for a range of transformation, change, continuous improvement and innovation delivery (Administrative Officer level) roles. The successful candidate will play a key role in the delivery and implementation of An Garda Síochána's transformation and reform strategy.


The successful candidate will report to a manager in one of the following areas:

  • Strategy, Planning & Prioritisation
  • Transformation Delivery
  • Portfolio Management & Reporting
  • Innovation & Continuous Improvement

As part of the Strategy and Transformation team, the role holder will work in the delivery and implementation of An Garda Síochána's transformation and reform strategy. As appropriate to the relevant pillar, key responsibilities may include:

  • Work on a day to day basis with managers and across the wider team to support the delivery of projects as assigned in line with time, cost, quality and expected benefits.
  • Support key initiatives as assigned, across the areas of: strategic planning; prioritisation; delivery; portfolio management and reporting; innovation; continuous improvement; benefit realisation.
  • Pro-active collaboration and engagement with key stakeholders on a day to day basis to ensure alignment, and to manage expectations throughout delivery.
  • Analyse data, prepare reports and statistical returns/documentation for internal and external audiences.
  • Escalate as appropriate to line managers and the senior management team on key issues and risks related to projects or initiatives.
  • Act as a point of contact for guidance and advice for Strategy and Transformation related matters.
  • Keep up to date with latest developments and best practice in relevant areas of Strategy and Transformation, or within police services and other public bodies as part of ongoing professional development.
  • Carry out such other duties and responsibilities as are assigned from time to time by the line manager or Executive Director of Strategy and Transformation.

Essential Criteria

A qualification at minimum level 8 in the National Framework of Qualifications (Honours Bachelor Degree level) in a related subject.

Experience

Applicants must be able to demonstrate by providing personal and specific examples on their application form that they have:

  • Experience working in a project/change/portfolio management or continuous improvement role.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a proven ability to analyse and synthesise large amounts of information (qualitative and quantitative) and present required information clearly and concisely to a wide audience both verbally and in written communications.
  • Proven ability to deliver results, work under pressure, and the capacity to work to tight deadlines.
  • Team player, who works well with others to achieve a common goal.
