Saffline Ireland are recruiting for a permanent Spray Painter on behalf of our client, a high value manufacturing facility based in Ballygowan

This exciting role will support the company's activities in the manufacture of advanced composite parts and assemblies for customers in the aerospace, defence and automotive sectors. The ideal candidate will be a key player in the Operations Team within a dynamic and agile company

In addition to a competitive salary up to £15 per/hr dependent on experience, the successful candidate will receive ongoing support to improve skills in a variety of areas. ESSENTIAL CRITERIA

  • Minimum 3 years' experience spray painting
  • Competent using air fed mask while painting
  • Ability to accurately lay down manufacturer recommended DFT's
  • Methodical and efficient approach to work with exceptional attention to detail
  • Experience in recording data such as bake times, temperatures, DFT's, paint viscosity

DUTIES

Day to day running of the paint shop to include:

  • Preparation of parts for paint and masking off to engineering specification
  • Coordinating labour to prepare parts
  • Spray painting to defined Dry Film Thickness (DFT) and surface finishes to a high quality
  • Management of all associated consumables
  • Responsible for scheduling maintenance activities with service providers
  • Maintaining a clean working environment to eliminate Foreign Object Debris (FOD)
  • Safe operation of plant, equipment within safety guidelines
  • Completing records of the painting process

Operation of Factory Equipment, including:

  • Use of Forklift Trucks, Company Vehicles, Overhead Crane, etc. in accordance with safety guidelines
  • Making full checks on Equipment before use, completing checklists and arranging repairs

Other related tasks, including:

  • Waste Management, including segregation of paint contaminated materials for recycling
  • Adhere to the company's Quality Management System, monitor KPIs and drive process improvements
  • Adhere to the company's Environmental, Health and Safety and Equal Opportunities policies
  • General maintenance, including cleaning of equipment, changing of filters etc
  • Undertake other duties as may be reasonably required
  • Staying up to date with current H&S legislation pertaining to paint processes

Rate of pay: Up to £15/hr depending on experience

Hours: 39hrs per week - 8am - 5pm Monday to Thursday, 8am - 1pm Friday

1 x 30 min lunch / 2 x 15min tea breaks
