Full time/perm post, 39 hours per week and reporting to Social Care Team Leader.

Our client, a private healthcare provider is seeking an experienced Social Care Worker to join their Children and Adult Day Services and Residential Services based in Sligo, Cavan and Monaghan. The role will be based in either of these locations.

The role will ideally suit qualified Social Care Workers who have experience of supporting individuals who present with challenging behaviour.

Key Duties:

  • Aid Service Users in all aspects of personal care.
  • Ensure a safe environment is always maintained for both Service Users, work colleagues and visitors to the unit/house.
  • Maintain written reports, risk assessments and complete all daily paperwork.
  • Follow medication administration procedures and ensure medication is administered using the 10 rights of medication administration.
  • Adhere to HIQA Framework, and working practices of the organisation.
  • Participate in meetings and service user reviews, and to feedback information to management and the M/D Team.
  • Attend and participate in all regulatory, mandatory and development training as assigned by the organisation and/or your line manager.
  • Effectively contribute to the team dynamic within your work location/other work locations to provide a high-quality, professional service.
  • To develop and document plans of care based on service user needs in conjunction with the safety net clinics and mainstream health services.

Essential Criteria:

  • Registered or pending registration with CORU.
  • Third Level Qualification or equivalent in Social Care (minimum level 7).
  • A minimum of 2 years' employment experience in a similar role, e.g. Day Services; Domiciliary Care; Residential Care; Learning Disability; Autism, etc.
  • Experience of supporting individuals who present with challenging behaviour.
  • Competent in the use of Microsoft Word & Outlook.
