Band 4 Senior Recruitment Officer

Armagh

Temporary - up to 30/06/2025 then a month by month basis depending on performance

The Client: Local public body based in Armagh

The Role: The postholder will supervise others and participate personally in the provision of the full range of recruitment and selection activities, ensuring a responsive and high-quality services at all times.

  • Oversee the delivery of a high-quality recruitment and selection service, including supervision of junior staff and managing allocated requisitions in line with RSSC procedures and employment legislation
  • Ensure all necessary pre-employment checks are completed, following up on discrepancies and liaising with managers where required
  • Support workload management across the team by using available data to prioritise and flex resources daily
  • Provide guidance and training to junior staff, particularly on complex cases
  • Advise managers on recruitment-related matters, ensuring policy and procedure compliance
  • Communicate effectively with candidates throughout the pre-employment process, including any issues of concern
  • Handle first-level recruitment queries from staff, managers, and the public
  • Act as an authorised signatory for Access NI checks and manage cases involving disclosures with the R&S Team Leader
  • Assist with service improvement initiatives and support efforts to meet key performance indicators (KPIs)
  • Maintain accurate waiting list files and contribute to the investigation of complaints or queries when required

Hours of work: Full-Time: 37.5 hours (Mon-Fri 9am-5pm)

Essential Criteria:

1a. 2 A-Levels or equivalent/higher qualification
AND
18 months' experience in a clerical/administrative role, of which at least 12 months must be within a Human Resources/Recruitment environment

OR

1b. 3 years' experience in a clerical/administrative role, of which at least 12 months must be within a Human Resources/Recruitment environment

  1. Experience in the use of Microsoft Office products, including at a minimum MS Word and MS Excel
  2. Admin experience is essential
