The Client: Local Government body serving local residents.

The Role: Main Purpose of Post/Job Summary

The post holder will provide a meeting and greeting service at Hillsborough Forest delivering an efficient and comprehensive tourist information service for visitors and local residents, providing information on tours, attractions, places to eat and drink as well as events and festivals taking place in the Lisburn & Castlereagh area.

Hours of work:

A rota of cover including weekends and public holidays will be required, therefore applicants must be flexible with availability.

The VIC trailer operates from 10am to 4pm Thursday - Sunday during April, May, June & September (excl. public holidays).

During public and school holidays, including Easter, May Day and throughout July and August the VIC trailer operates from 10am to 4pm, Monday-Sunday.

Requirements:

Essential:

• 5 GCSEs at grades A-C (or equivalent)

OR

• NVQ level 2 or higher

AND

• One year customer service experience ideally in a visitor facing/hospitality role

OR

• Where the applicant does not possess the academic qualifications a minimum of 3 years' experience in a customer service/visitor facing/hospitality role is required
• Good flexibility and availability across the working week and weekends

Desirable:

• One year experience of working in the tourist information service, visitor focused position, hospitality, customer facing retail, travel trade or similar
• One year proven and demonstrable experience in sales and selling skills
• A working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite of computer packages
