What does this role contribute to the Company?
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Accounts Assistant to join our dynamic finance team. Working closely with the Management Accountant, the Sales Ledger Accounts Assistant will specifically manager the sales ledger function while supporting with the day to day running of the finance department. You will be highly organised, personable, have excellent interpersonal skills and able to work well as part of a wider team.
What we'll ask of you:
- Process AR invoices and maintenance of all aspects of the sales ledger.
- Credit control duties, payments reminder communication.
- Communicate with customers to resolve invoice/statement discrepancies or obtain additional information.
- Process payment receipts from multiple sources and ensure accurate allocation on the ledger.
- Work closely with the sales and customer service teams.
- Bank Reconciliations.
- Assist in the month-end closing process.
- Prepare reports and analysis as required by the finance team.
- Assist with the statutory audit as required.
- Generate monthly reports on accounts receivable and outstanding debts.
- Completion and submission of Vat returns.
- Ad hoc duties as required to support the business
Essential Criteria:
- Minimum 2 years' experience in a similar role
- Strong analytical and numerical skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
