Our Client, A Large Public Sector Organisation based in Ballycastle require Recreation Attendants to join their team.

Role : Recreation Attendant

Locations : Ballycastle

Hours of work : Post 1 - 37hrs per week Monday - Sunday

Post 2 - Casual hours Monday - Sunday

Hourly Rate : 1 -12 weeks £12.69 13 weeks + £13.26

Main Purpose of Post

  • To positively support management and colleagues, assist in the provision of safe, customer focused service delivery including monitoring, cleaning, supervision and control members of the public. Enforcing Health and Safety regulations and standard operating procedures at all times.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Undertake daily duties and jobs associated with the provision of leisure/sports activities, including opening and closing of building, reception duties, booking systems etc. as required.
  • Instruct and coach classes as required in health & fitness related topics specific to training/qualifications.
  • Supervise all activity areas including sports halls, gym areas, reception areas, play areas, changing and auxiliary areas, to ensure that activities and facilities operate safely and efficiently, in accordance with agreed operating procedures.
  • Enforce all Health & Safety regulations and Emergency Operating procedures which impact on service users, including implementation of evacuation procedures.
  • Ensure that Council policies and procedures relating to child protection and vulnerable adults are adhered to at all times.
  • Administration of first aid including the recording and reporting of all accidents /incidents to Line Manager. This may include use of automated external defibrillator if required in a medical emergency.
  • Carry out required tests and checklists within the facility and inform line manager of faults / defects in order for corrective measures to be put in place and document accordingly.
  • Prepare, erect and dismantle all equipment safely as required. Utilise, erect or move specialised equipment.
  • Maintain a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene within the building and all exterior areas within the facility boundary using appropriate protective clothing, machines, equipment and selected cleaning materials/chemicals and document accordingly.
  • Assist with stock control and operation of the Leisure Centres vending machines including cash removal from resources such as hairdryers, lockers etc.
  • Report any defects or damage to equipment or premises to Line Manager.
  • Assist in the implementation and maintenance of any applicable quality awards, initiatives and accreditations including corporate policies/initiatives.
  • Promote positive communication with customers, members of the public, visitors, private organisations and other Statutory bodies who have contact with Council.
  • Develop strong, positive working relationships with management, colleagues and Councillors and other departments/functions.

Essential Criteria

Applicants must, demonstrate by providing personal and specific examples that they possess, within the leisure/fitness environment

  • A valid Level Two Fitness Instructor Qualification
  • A minimum of one group-based Exercise Instruction Qualification
  • A minimum of 6 months experience working as a Fitness Instructor within a leisure / fitness facility
