Project Manager - Transport & Logistics | Public Sector |Contract
The Client: Our client is currently seeking to recruit a Project Manager to join their organisation on a fixed-term contract basis. This key role will report directly to the Head of the Department and the successful candidate will work closely with senior management and stakeholders to support in the roll out of a new function within the Transport & Logistics division.
The Project Manager will support the design and creation of a comprehensive transport model for the organisation, in preparation for tender process, ensuring all operations align with the project's objectives, standards and budget.
The Role:
- To establish and lead a stakeholder management to ensure that decisions made throughout the project are aligned to project scope and objectives.
- To develop a service specification framework, defining clear criteria and standards and compliance to include resource management, ensuring a safe, reliable, cost-effective and transparent methodology to meet needs
- To manage route optimisation & technology integration, trialling advanced route optimisation technology to improve scheduling, reduce inefficiencies and maximise resource allocation to be included as part of the tender preparation.
- Manage resource coordination plan by streamlining fleet management in collaboration with key stakeholders, ensuring compliance with health, safety and accessibility standards.
- Conduct pilot tests to evaluate the operational effectiveness of the transport model, identify challenges and refine the system based on feedback.
- Procurement & Tendering: Finalise the groundwork for procurement by preparing the specifications and ensuring that the tendering process aligns with the designed model.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in project management capacity, ideally within a transport function
- Experience in drafting of briefings and presentations for stakeholder events
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to work as part of a on/off site team environment, self-manage and prioritise daily workload
- Effective communication skills with the ability to lead and influence at all levels
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
In Return:
- Salary scale €62,508 (may be negotiable)
- 6-12 month contract
- Hybrid working arrangement
- Based in South County Dublin/Wicklow
