Job description

Our Client, A Large Public Sector Organisation based in Coleraine require a Physical Activity Officer to join their team.

Role : Physical Activity Office

Location : Coleraine

Hours of work : 37hrs

Hourly Rate : £14.17

Main Purpose of Post

  • Coordinate, develop and evaluate Council's Physical Activity Referral Programmes. This will include the planning and instruction of programmes of Physical Activity for referred clients with specific health needs, such as, but not exclusively, those with coronary heart disease/Cardiac Rehab Phase IV provision and obesity problems.

  • Ensure that the department complies with all statutory and legislative requirements by adhering to these requirements and working in accordance with good governance and health and safety requirements.

  • Ensure that all responsibilities are carried out in a timely and effective manner and that general confidentiality is maintained in all areas relating to the work of the Council.

Essential Criteria

Applicants must, at the closing date for receipt of applications, demonstrate by providing personal and specific examples, that they possess:

  • Valid recognized Level 2 Fitness Instructor/Gym Qualification
  • Valid Wright Foundation Level 3 Diploma in Exercise Referral
  • 2 years experience in Exercise prescription and program delivery to special populations.

Plus one of the following;

  • Cardiac Rehabilitation Phase IV Exercise Instructors Qualification (BACPR or equivalent)
  • Level 4 Pulmonary Maintenance.

*Applications must be prepared to work towards achieving a Level 4 delivery qualification within 6 months of commencing employment.
