About the Role
To provide an efficient and effective Electronic Materials Management (EMM) service to the Trust using the regional EMM systems. The post holder will support the day to day operations of the Hospital by ordering, delivering and putting away EMM goods as well as being involved in the receipt, picking and Issuing of goods at the trusts receipt and distribution points.
Key Responsibilities
- Working to a pre-determined schedule scanning or recording the quantities of items of ward/departmental level stocks to be re-ordered and inputting the data to the EMM system, liaising with customers as appropriate.
- Delivery of goods to ward/department level, removal of packaging, put-away of goods into pre-agreed bin locations within the ward/department stores and removal of waste packaging to agreed points across the Trust.
- In putting away goods ensuring the rotation of stock through the proper operation of the regional EMM system.
- Return of waste packaging material to agreed points to facilitate collection and disposal within agreed timescales.
- Receipt of deliveries in accordance with laid down procedures.
- Liaise with customers at ward/department level regarding abnormal usage trends, effects of holidays, bed occupancy etc., to ensure adequate levels of stocks exist on shelves.
- Liaise with customers on supply matters such as quality of goods, delivery arrangements, planned usage etc.
- Use of technology where available to assist in the flow of information e.g. Barcode scanners, printers, PC's and other wireless equipment.
- Develop a familiarity with products used by wards/departments.
- Ensure that supplies delivered are located according to agreed customer requirements.
- Receipt and checking of non-stock deliveries at the receipt and distribution points.
- Operation of the Trusts EMM system.
- Receipt, checking and issuing of local stock.
- Carrying out general stores duties such as good housekeeping, operation of materials handling equipment, assisting with Perpetual Inventory checks and ensuring the security and careful handling of goods to prevent damage.
- Provide cover as and when required to other on-site stores.
- The post holder will be required to demonstrate flexibility to provide cover in accordance with the trusts service requirements.
GENERAL REQUIREMENTS
The post holder will be required to:
- Assist BSO in fulfilling its statutory duties under Section 75 of the Northern Ireland Act 1998 to promote equality of opportunity and good relations and under the Disability Discrimination (Northern Ireland) Order 2006. - Co-operate fully with regard to Trust policies and procedures relating to infection prevention and control.
- Take responsibility to minimise the Trust's environmental impact wherever possible. This will include recycling, switching off lights, computers, monitors and equipment when not in use. Helping to reduce paper waste by minimising printing/copying and reducing water usage, reporting faults and heating/cooling concerns promptly and minimising travel.
- All employees of the Organisation are legally responsible for all records held, created or used as part of their business within the BSO including patients/clients, corporate and administrative records whether paper-based or electronic and also including emails. All such records are public records and are accessible to the general public, with limited exceptions, under the Freedom of Information act 2000 the Environmental Information Regulations 2004, the General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018. Employees are required to be conversant with the BSO policy and procedures on records management and to seek advice if in doubt.

Other duties of a similar nature and appropriate to the grade may be assigned from time to time.
It is a standard condition that all Trust staff may be required to serve at any location within The Organisation's area, as needs of the service demand.
Essential Requirements:
- Three GCSE Grades A-C including Mathematics and English Language or NVQ Level 2 or GNVQ or equivalent PLUS One Years relevant experience in a Procurement or Logistics Enviroment
OR
- Two years relevant experience in a Procurement or Logistics environment
