Our client, in Enniskillen, Co Fermanagh require a Part Time Learning Support worker

The Role:

As the Learning Support Worker, your duties will involve working providing specialist disability support to young people who require assistance whilst participating on the Skills for Life and Work, Training for Success and/or Apprenticeships NI Programme

  • Prepare any materials required in advance of the support session and have all necessary resources to ensure optimum support is provided to the participants.
  • Adapt all training and support materials as required to make them user friendly and differentiated to support the participant.
  • Support the Training Provider by delivering the appropriate disability specialist learning support for the participant.
  • Carry out all required administrative duties including engagement notes and department required documentation on any ongoing basis.
  • Assist the Co-ordinator with the monitoring and evidencing of progress against Performance Targets set.
  • Stimulate and promote effective, learner-centred independent learning strategies for the young person to enable them to participate and heighten their motivation and self-esteem.
  • Maintain a confidential and effective system for processing and maintaining all internal documentation.

Hours of work:

  • Part Time role - 9hrs per week
  • Mon, Wed and Thurs, 1:30 to 3:30 pm and Fri, 10-1pm

The ideal Learning Support Worker will have:

  • Educated to NVQ Level 2 or equivalent to include Maths and English.
  • Good literacy and numeracy skills.
  • Experience in a similar role supporting young people/children within a group environment and / or on a one-to-one setting.
  • Effective 1:1 mentoring and motivational skills to encourage participants to undertake positive actions.
  • Good organisational skills
  • Experience of plan learning activities and completing records
  • Experience of giving extra support to young people to complete tasks
  • Ability to demonstrate administrative skills with good record keeping.
  • Good knowledge of MS office to include Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • An ability to build good working relationships
  • Knowledge of statutory services and relevant legislation especially child protection and safeguarding.
  • Full current driving license and access to a car.

  • Rate of Pay: £12 - 13 per hr
  • Free Parking

The successful candidate will be required to process an Access NI check through Staffline
