HGV Class 1 Driver - ASAP Start

We are seeking a reliable and skilled HGV Class 1 driver to join the team of our client based in Ballymena. This will be a temporary position to begin with but there is potential for a full time permanent role.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting goods safely and efficiently, ensuring timely deliveries while adhering to all driver's hours and working time laws and regulations.

The role requires a strong commitment to safety, common sense, working with imitative and excellent driving skills. All DCPC modules must be fully up to date.

Main Duties:

Sunday to Friday Northern Ireland/ROI Night shift Runs

• Ensure that all deliveries are made on time and in full, reporting any discrepancies immediately
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and compliance
• Maintain accurate records of POD's, trip sheets and fuel drawings
• Communicate with planners and be able to use the driver app to receive load plans and customers delivery/collection details
• Load and unload cargo as required, ensuring that all items are secured properly for transport
• Adhere to all driving regulations and working time legislation

Qualifications

• Valid Class 1 HGV Driving License with no more than 3 points
• Over 25 years of age and 2 years experience preferred- can discuss drivers with lesser experience depending on previous insurance approval
• Strong knowledge of road safety regulations and best practices in commercial driving
• Excellent time management skills with the ability to plan efficient routes
• Strong communication skills for effective interaction with clients and team members
• Double deck work along with standard curtain sided work
• A commitment to maintaining a high standard of safety on the road

Rate of Pay: From £15.38 per hour

Expected hours: 50 - 72 per week
