Job description
Staffline Recrutment ROI We are delighted to announce our new Groundskeeper role that is now available in North Dublin.
Role: Groundskeeper (General Operative)
Pay: €16.82/hr
Responsibilities
- Be responsible for such duties as are assigned by the Maintenance Manager or Foreman.
- Use wheelbarrows, ladders, hoists, tools, shovels and pick axes in the course of their work.
- Use equipment for example a jack hammer, con saw and angle grinder etc. in the course of their work.
- Load and unload trade deliveries or equipment e.g. pipes work, radiators, concrete blocks etc.
- Clean plantrooms weekly.
- Clean maintenance yard weekly.
- Collect materials from suppliers and deliver to various sites as requested
- Carry out maintenance and repairs to include cutting, chasing of walls and floors, digging trenches, mixing cement, drilling walls for pipe work and cabling, cleaning boilers and flues.
- Attend tradesmen during the course of their duties.
- Return time sheets and invoices to administration support office.
- Liaise with outside contractors, as required.
- Carry a mobile phone, pager or other aids of communication as required.
- Participate in on-call rota as required advised to you by your line manager.
- Travel in company provided transport as directed by the Foreman or Maintenance Manager.
- Be accountable for all tools, stock or equipment under his/her control and to ensure that all such equipment is kept in the proper state of repair in accordance with safety standards.
- Carry out grounds duties including emptying all bins, keeping the grounds clean and tidy, cleaning surface water drains/gutters, delivering timber for boarding up windows, where required.
- Carry out shore man duties including daily inspection of sewage treatment plant, weekly cleaning and checking on site pothole water system, freeing up shores where required.
- Assist in the moving of plant equipment, fixtures, fittings and furniture as required
- Carry out waste handling duties as required
- Drive HSE vehicle as required.
- Cut grass, hedges, clean road and footpaths.
- Maintain courtyards and flower beds.
- Water flowers/general garden duties.
- Order material when required to do so.
- Stock take on store room.
- Particapate in tool management system while working on wards.
- Assist with furniture relocation.
- Assist to contractors when required.
- Carry out basic carpentry, plumbing and electrical tasks may be required ie. Change toilet seats, change light bulbs and hang soap dispensers and other pieces of equipment.
Requirements
- Have completed second level education to Junior Certificate standard (Level 3 on the Quality & Qualifications Ireland Framework) and have obtained a minimum of six passes in the Junior Certificate Examination Ordinary Level or Higher Level including Mathematics and English
- Valid Safe Pass
- Drivers Licence (Optional)
- Have a minimum of 1 year's satisfactory experience in the maintenance or construction sector
