Management Accountant

Our client one of Northern Ireland's leading construction services are currently looking to recruit an experienced Management Accountant - due to significant growth within the business they are recruiting for a Management Accountant to oversee the finance function for two companies within the group. The ideal candidate will have previous experience managing a finance team and with budget administration. Moreover, the successful candidate will be a fully qualified accountant and will have outstanding organisational skills.

Main Tasks

• Managing a finance team to meet monthly deadlines.
• Completion of monthly management accounts including full reconciliation of balance sheet accounts.
• Managing financial accounting tasks such as recording journal entries, reconciling Profit and Loss Accounts, and conducting financial analysis.
• Overseeing daily bank operations, including reconciling company bank accounts and forecasting cash flow.
• Managing UK and ROI VAT/CIS compliance, including filing returns
• Preparing year-end audit documentation and coordinating with external auditors
• Conducting job costing analysis and generating WIP reports
• Compiling monthly sales reports and analysing customer profitability.
• Responsible for the weekly / monthly creditor payment process.
• Budget administration.
• Monthly meetings with company directors to discuss company financials.
• Responsible for the weekly / monthly creditor payment process.
• Developing and recommendation/ implementation of process improvements.

Criteria

• Fully qualified accountant with a recognised accounting body (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA) or an equivalent.
• Strong understanding of Microsoft Office Suite (i.e. Excel)
• Experience utilizing financial accounting packages.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience of managing a team would be ideal but not essential to the role.
• Able to work under pressure and manage a large workload with minimal supervision.
