Job description

Our Client, A Large Public Sector Organisation based in Ballymoney require a Finance and Performance Officer to join their team.

Hours of work : 37 hrs per week

Hourly Rate : 1-12 weeks £16.39 13 weeks + £18.26

Main Duties :

  • Principle advisory role to the Director of Environmental Services and Heads of Service in all matters relating to Finance and Performance
  • Performance management of the Directorate's £30.8m revenue budget
  • Responsible for the provision, review and monitoring of financial and performance information in support of the Director, Heads of Service and Managers throughout the

Directorate including:-.

  • Management account analysis
  • Trend analysis
  • Accurate cost / income allocation by cost coding
  • Variance forecasting
  • Overspend warning
  • Annual budget preparation for rates setting

  • The specific provision of timely and accurate management accounts at a strategic and operational level including Cost Centre Management reports in a Profit & Loss format. In doing so identifying and highlighting financial risk.
  • Responsible for providing guidance to managers in relation to business planning and financial management to drive improvements, efficiencies and income generation.

Essential Criteria :

Either;

  • Third level qualification in accountancy/finance/business administration, business management or equivalent PLUS 1 years working experience in administration to include finance.

Or;

  • Three years working experience in finance administration to include business

Plus

  • Operational Policy & Procedures:
    • A proven track record of design, formulation, delivery, and review of key financial and performance support policies and procedures within a large customer facing organisation.
  • Service Delivery:
    • Experience of delivering high quality financial and performance support services and a comprehensive understanding of the issues affecting:
      • Customer facing organisation
      • Special initiatives and capital projects as required.
      • Working knowledge of financial reporting mechanisms
      • Knowledge of Microsoft Office to include Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
