Staffline Recruitment Ireland is excited to offer the opportunity for an Electrical Engineering Manager role within our distinguished client, Wrightbus, a leader in zero-emission vehicle innovation. This position is integral to leading an engineering team withing cutting-edge, eco-friendly transportation solutions, playing a direct role in the progression of sustainable transport technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

* Support the Head of Vehicle systems with associated tasks relating to role.

* Ensure all development projects are adequately resourced.

* Work closely with the Product Development Director and the project management team on project key milestones.

* Develop the skills and tools required within the electrical team to support current and future projects.

* Liaise with the production department to optimise design and New Product Introductions (NPI).

* Improve the standards of engineering and ensure that engineering designs are robust and properly validated.

* Drive standardisation across the project verticals within the Engineering Organisational structure.

* Manage your team's budget and costs.

* Identify and monitor appropriate Key Performance Indicators (KPIS). Produce a monthly KPI report for the Head of Vehicle Systems.

* Recruit, develop and train the engineering team, and establish future requirements for engineering talent within the company, and succession planning line with future technological developments.

* Ensure engineering practices and activities comply fully with company Quality Management Systems (QMS) processes.

* Support all activities which will result in an improved quality product and support total quality initiatives.

* To ensure procedures are documented for all critical areas of the build process.

* To ensure all Safety Critical Processes are followed during the design stage and to support the Product Safety Committee with in-service support.

* To find counter measures for customer reported problems and to prevent reoccurrence in new production. Electrical Engineering Manager Department: Engineering Reports To: Head of Vehicle Systems

* Optimise the spread of engineering resource amongst the competing requirements including securing grants for financial support.

* Provide a continuously improving level of service to all internal customers.

* Be responsible for developing high performance teams and individuals to meet business objectives.

* Support the business to ensure new vehicles are fit for purpose for market into which they are to be introduced and meet customer specification.

* Support key component and system supplier selection for new materials and technology.

* Co-ordinate new option development for production contract planning and current design.

* To co-ordinate all testing activities for NPD and production contracts.

* Work with the Research and Advanced Engineering team at the Bamford Technology Centre at Queens University Belfast (QUB) by supporting project work and providing information as and when required.

* Effectively motivate the existing team members to ensure that each have a clear view of their roles and responsibilities, which will be aligned with corporate objectives.

* Work with the Electrical, Manufacturing and Homologation teams to ensure consistence of design by maintaining strong lines of communication.

* Undertake all duties in line with General Data Protection and maintain utmost level of confidentiality.

* Ensure work is completed to meet the requirements of the ISO 9001 standard.

Essential Criteria:

  • Honours Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
  • 5 years experience of engineering in a resource planning manufacturing environment. Experience of successfully managing new product developments or new product introductions. Minimum of 2 years of supervisor experience. Proven experience of engineering processes and systems. Demonstratable Electrical Engineering background. Vehicle Engineering Experience. Demonstratable experience in Budget preparation and control.

Desirable Criteria:

  • Educational Attainments: Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent. Recognised management qualification.
  • Experience: Knowledge of chassis powertrain and driveline systems. Knowledge of Electric and Hybrid Vehicle Power Electronics. Knowledge of Traction battery systems. Knowledge of Software development and verification processes Working knowledge of Agile development methodologies.
