Our client a large public sector organisation requires a Digital Marketing Communications Officer based in Newtownabbey.

Rate of Pay: £18.26
Location: Newtownabbey
Hours: 37 hours
Duration: up to 7 Months (Maternity Cover)

Main duties/Responsibilities:
The Digital Marketing Communications Officer will support the delivery of the Council's Digital Communication Strategy. This post will shape and drive the Council's online presence via proactive development and engagement across online channels (including social media and website).
- Manage online presence across social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok and YouTube) including maintenance of the social media calendar, inbox management and social listening.
- Generating engaging paid and organic content through the creation of original video, editorial and graphic material for marketing campaigns.
- Set the strategic direction of each social media channel to ensure appropriate content, messaging, tone and consistency.
- Work with the Marketing Communications and PR team and all Council service areas to develop, manage and evaluate digital marketing campaigns.
- Manage paid social and google advertising campaigns including budget.
- Manage Influencer Engagement to support the delivery of digital marketing campaigns, including writing briefs, managing quality control for use on Council social media accounts and analysing the effectiveness.
- Attend Council events to update social channels in real time.
- Report on campaigns to assess the effectiveness against objectives. Recognise patterns, trends and use key data and knowledge to optimise performance and shape future digital marketing strategies.
- Develop, manage and update content for the Council websites, apps, Google My Business and other online platforms, optimizing copy and landing pages for search 2 engine optimization (SEO).
- Analyse online user behaviour, conversion data and customer journeys via tools and software including Google Analytics and Hotjar. Create reports for various levels of management on the effectiveness to enable data driven recommendations to be made.
- Keep up to date with the latest social media trends.
- Provide specialist advice and training to Heads of Service, Council Officers, Elected Members and other key stakeholders on effective use of social media.
- Ensure content is created and presented in line with the Council's guidelines and complies with corporate brands and standards.
- Support the Marketing Communications and PR team with content creation for Council websites to ensure consistent messaging across all platforms.
- Ensure content adheres to appropriate policy and legal requirements, and that necessary checks are carried out before publishing.
- Assist with internal photography requests to support Council initiatives.
- Operate and manage specific camera and video equipment.
- Attend photocalls and provide direction to photographer in the absence of a Marketing Communications and PR Officer.
- Carry out any other relevant duties which may be assigned including working in other sections of the Department and Council.
- To be available from time to time to carry out duties outside of normal working hours and in addition to basic contracted hours. Such additional hours to be remunerated in line with the Council's policies at that time.
Essential Criteria:
- HND or equivalent relevant qualification at level 5 on the Qualifications Framework
2 years' experience in a Digital Marketing role to include:
- Planning, implementing delivering and reporting on organic and paid social media campaigns across multiple channels.
- Producing high quality written, video and photography content across multiple channels.
- Developing and implementing social media reporting metrics to evaluate success and optimise performance
