Job description

Our Client, A Large Public Sector Organisation based in Newtownabbey require an Electrician to join their team.

Role: Electrician

Rate of Pay: £15.70 per hour

Location: Newtownabbey

Hours: 37 hours

Duration: Temporary

Main duties/Responsibilities:

  • To carry out and complete all work to a high quality and in a competent and timely manner and leave the property in a clean and tidy condition.
  • To liaise with other staff / sub-contractors etc. as necessary to ensure the timely completion of works within agreed operational targets
  • To ensure accurate and timely completion of all job information by both paperwork and electronic means as required and pass this on to supervisor within agreed timescales.
  • To attend meetings, training sessions as required, including participating in training with a view to carrying out work outside of normal trade duties, where required.
  • To ensure that all work is performed in accordance with the requirements of Health and Safety and any other relevant legislation.
  • To undertake any other duties appropriate to the post objectives as required by management.
  • The post holder may also be required to provide an emergency call out service, at night and weekends, on a rota basis. Candidates will normally be on call for a 7 day period at a time. The above duties reflect the main elements associated with this position and are not intended to be exhaustive.

Candidates must be Access NI cleared prior to taking up appointment.

Essential Criteria:

  • Have completed either a time served or skills apprenticeship
  • Have at least 1 years post apprenticeship experience;
  • Hold a Level 3 certificate in the requirements for Electrical Installation to C&G 2382-18 (18th Edition).
  • Hold the following electrical qualifications: C&G 2391, or · C&G 2394 /2395 electrical testing and inspection
  • Already be, or be prepared to attain, registration on a recognised license to practice scheme at a qualified level (such as Spark-safe, etc)
  • Have a full current driving licence to enable the post holder to carry out the required duties of this post
