Credit Controller - Belfast

Location: Belfast (Hybrid - 3 days office / 2 days WFH)
Salary: £26,000-£28,000 per annum (FTE, pro rata) + 36 days annual leave (pro rata) + healthcare + pension + reward scheme
Hours: 18.75 hours per week (Monday-Friday, 3.75 hrs per day)
Contract Type: Part-time, Permanent

Staffline Recruitment Ireland is recruiting for a Credit Controller to join our Finance Shared Service Centre in Belfast. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with numbers, building relationships, and ensuring efficient cash flow across a fast-paced business.

About the Role

As a Credit Controller, you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of client accounts, ensuring timely payments, maintaining accurate records, and supporting internal stakeholders to achieve business objectives.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Managing assigned ledgers and client relationships to ensure prompt payment.
  • Conducting credit checks and approving new accounts.
  • Reconciling accounts and resolving discrepancies quickly and accurately.
  • Liaising with clients and internal teams to address billing queries and escalate issues when required.
  • Completing bespoke invoicing and ensuring all invoices are accurate and compliant.
  • Reconciling self-bill accounts and investigating anomalies.
  • Updating system notes regularly to maintain a clear audit trail.
  • Supporting process improvements across the Credit Control function.

What We're Looking For

Essential:

  • Minimum 1 year's experience in credit control.
  • Experience working with both external and internal stakeholders.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work to financial targets.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Desirable:

  • Experience reconciling AR ledgers and performing online credit checks.
  • Working knowledge of AR systems.
  • Previous experience in a commercial finance or banking environment.
