Job description
Our Client, A Large Public Sector Organisation based in Coleraine require a Corporate Communications and PR Manager to join their team.
Role :Corporate Communications and PR Manager
Location : Coleraine
Hours of Work : 37 hrs per week - Monday to Friday
Hourly Rate : 1 - 12 weeks £18.36 13 weeks + £20.31
Main Duties :
- Manage the day-to-day delivery of an effective Corporate Communications and Public Relations service across a range of Council services to ensure the coordinated provision of a modern and responsive service.
- Act as Senior Responsible Officer in relation to Corporate Communications and Public Relations service area on a number of project groups as and when required.
- Provide advice and support to the Chief Executive, Senior Management Team and Heads of Service in the provision of expert advice, with an understanding of the political and sensitive context, and to the Mayor and other elected representatives as appropriate and when required.
- Maintain effective working relationships with key external stakeholders, ministerial, parliamentary or Assembly departments and a variety of other public, community and voluntary sector bodies.
- Deputise for the Democratic and Central Services Manager in relation to Corporate Communications and Public Relations activities as appropriate and when required.
- Ensure departmental compliance of statutory legislation and work in accordance with good governance practices.
- Ensure that all responsibilities are carried out in a timely and effective manner and that general confidentiality is maintained in all areas relating to the work of the Council.
Essential Criteria :
- A level five qualification in a relevant discipline, ie Communications, Marketing, English or equivalent.
And
- A minimum of two years' experience working in the field of Public Relations, Marketing, Communications or Media to include:
- Design and preparation of public relations or media plans;
- Copywriting and preparing press releases.
Or
- Alternatively, consideration will be given to applicants who do not possess the required educational qualification outlined above but can demonstrate, by providing personal and specific examples that they have at least four years' experience to include the areas outlined at (a) and (b) above.
Plus
- Experience in the use of Microsoft Office applications to include: Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
- A full current driving licence (Category B, valid in the UK) and access to a vehicle that will enable the post holder to meet the requirements of the post OR have access to a form of transport that enables you to carry out the duties of the post.
- The nature of the post requires flexible working eg work outside normal office hours, including evening meetings and weekends as required.
