Job description
Our Client, A Large Public Sector Organisation based in Ballycastle require a Building Maintenance Skilled Operative to join their team.
Hourly Rate : 1 - 12 weeks £11.93 13 weeks + £13.02
Hours of work : 37 hrs per week
Main Duties :
- Undertake a range of skilled practical tasks associated with the maintenance of Council assets. This will include (but is not limited to) setting out from diagrams/sketches in the performance of skilled maintenance tasks (such as tiling, replacing window panes, street furniture/sign/handrail/bin installations, use of construction plant etc.). This will include good housekeeping.
- Responsible for ensuring all aspects of Health & Safety are implemented in the course of your work. Includes wearing appropriate personal protective equipment, ensuring adherence to risk assessments, method statements and, where necessary completing dynamic on- the-job risk assessments. Support other staff in performance of their duties and responsibilities in regard to Health & Safety.
- Contribute to the maximizing of productivity through the effective planning and organisation of work schedules, being aware of and responding to conflicting priorities.

Essential Criteria :
- A valid Health & Safety CSR /CSCS card.
AND
- A minimum of 18 months' experience in a skilled building maintenance* (handyman and/or plant operator) role gained in a commercial setting (non-domestic), to include:
- Supervisory experience;
- Set up, safe use and routine maintenance of a variety of construction plant (such as excavators, dumpers, mechanical elevated working platforms, telescopic handlers, );
- Set up, safe use and routine maintenance of a range of powered and manual hand tools (eg breaking hammers, drills, grinders, saws)
- Knowledge of Health & Safety legislation and its application in the workplace to include risk assessments and/or method statements for safe working.
- A full current driving licence (Category C1+E valid in the UK).
- Available for call out in emergency situations as necessary.
