Head of ICT

Our Client, A Large Public Sector Organisation based in Coleraine require a Head of ICT to join their team.

Role : Head of ICT.

Location : Coleraine

Hours of Work : 37 hrs per week

Hourly Rate : 1 - 12 weeks £27.83 13 weeks + £30.69

Main Duties :

• Provide leadership and vision in the development, management and control of Council's ICT functions and responsibilities.
• Lead a high performing Information and Communications Technology (ICT) Section by assuming overall responsibility within this area.
• Delivery of an ICT Strategy and Plan for Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council.
• Alignment of current ICT functions into the converged Council.
• Provide relevant Disaster Recovery and Risk Management plans and contribute to Business Continuity solutions.
• Development of organisational structures and business processes.
• Establishment of reliable, secure communications across the new organisation and to external partners.
• Transfer assets from existing Councils and the transferring functions.
• Create ICT policies and procedures and provide direct advice on ICT matters to the Senior Management Team and Members.
• Lead on the development of the Council's ICT systems and infrastructure, hardware and software support and improvement, and managing the technical support to the new Council's Departments, related organizations and Members as appropriate, in a secure environment.
• Provide effective leadership and vision for the optimal performance of the ICT work stream and transferring functions.
• Ensure provision of high quality ICT facilities for Members.

Essential Criteria :

• Hold a degree level qualification in a relevant ICT related discipline such as Computer Science, Computing and Information Technology, Information Management and be able to demonstrate by providing personal and specific examples, three years relevant experience, at a senior management level, in the areas listed below:

• Be able to demonstrate by providing personal and specific examples, five years relevant experience, at a senior management level, in the areas listed below:

Experience of working as an ICT professional at a senior management level within a large organisation including:

1. Strategy Development. The ability to look ahead, assess options, contribute to the development of ICT Strategy, evaluate options and effectively lead or direct delivery to achieve strategic objectives and outcomes.
2. Operational Policy & Procedures.A proven track record of leading the formulation, delivery, and review of key technology driven operational procedures within a large, customer facing organisation.
3. ICT Service Delivery. Experience of delivering high quality ICT services and a comprehensive understanding of the issues affecting continuous improvement and cost reduction.
