Job description
Our client has an exciting opportunity for a Maintenance Technician to join their team in Derry.
As the Maintenance Technician, your duties will be
- Developing and carrying out Planned Preventive Maintenance (PPM) schedules.
- Diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic faults.
- Conducting root cause analysis to identify and eliminate recurring issues.
- Supporting continuous improvement projects to enhance equipment reliability and performance.
- Maintaining accurate maintenance records, service logs, and calibration documentation.
- Liaising with OEMs and specialist contractors when required.
- Supporting the implementation of TPM and 5S initiatives.
- Maintaining and repairing hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
- Responding quickly to breakdowns and supporting production teams to minimise downtime.
- Ensuring compliance with all health, safety, environmental, and statutory regulations, including PUWER and LOLER.
- Managing spare parts inventory and technical documentation.
- Training and supporting operators with daily equipment checks and basic maintenance activities.
Requirements for Maintenance Technician:
- Minimum 3 years' experience in a manufacturing maintenance environment.
- NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical and/or Electrical Engineering (or equivalent).
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Flexible, proactive, and solution-focused approach.
- Flexible approach to working shift patterns, including mornings, afternoons, and nights.
