Administration, Governance & Membership Officer
Are you an experienced administrator looking for an opportunity to make a real impact within a leading Irish human rights organisation?
We are currently recruiting for an Administration, Governance & Membership Officer to provide temporary cover within a small, dynamic and purpose-driven organisation. This is an excellent opportunity for an organised and proactive professional to take on a varied role spanning administration, governance, membership, CRM management and events.
You will work closely with the Executive Director and wider team, helping to ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the organisation while supporting key governance and membership activities.
About the Role
This is a varied position where no two days are likely to be the same. You will act as an important point of contact for the organisation while providing essential operational and administrative support.
Your responsibilities will include:
Administration & Office Support
- Acting as a first point of contact for phone and email enquiries.
- Providing day-to-day administrative and operational support across the organisation.
- Managing records, invoices, post, office supplies and general office administration.
- Maintaining accurate contact, mailing, member and donor databases.
- Supporting recruitment, HR and internal administration.
- Coordinating Team and Board meetings, including agendas, minutes and documentation.
- Providing direct administrative support to the Executive Director.
Governance & Compliance
- Supporting the organisation with its governance and compliance requirements.
- Maintaining and reviewing policies and procedures.
- Supporting deadlines and documentation relating to the Companies Registration Office and Charities Regulator.
- Supporting GDPR and Health & Safety compliance.
- Assisting with Board development, recruitment, induction and performance processes.
- Preparing Board papers and reports and supporting Board sub-committees.
Membership & CRM
- Managing and maintaining the organisation's CRM system, including Salesforce.
- Keeping member records accurate and up to date.
- Processing new memberships and renewals.
- Supporting communications and engagement with members and donors.
- Coordinating communications with members currently in prison, including newsletters and other correspondence.
Events
- Providing end-to-end administrative support for in-person and online events.
- Coordinating venues, catering, attendees and speaker travel.
- Acting as the main venue contact and resolving logistical issues on the day.
- Supporting event follow-up and administration.
What We're Looking For
We're looking for someone who is highly organised, detail-focused and comfortable managing multiple priorities in a small and busy team.
Essential Experience
- 3+ years' experience in general administration or a similar role.
- Excellent organisational and administrative skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage competing deadlines.
- Good working knowledge of MS Office, particularly Excel.
- Experience with governance and compliance requirements, ideally within the charity or NGO sector.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently, take initiative and use sound judgement.
- Flexibility to occasionally attend evening events where required.
Desirable Experience but not essential
Experience in any of the following would be advantageous:
- Salesforce or another CRM system.
- Membership database management.
- Irish NGO or charity sector experience.
- Supporting a Board or senior leadership team.
- HR systems such as HR Locker.
- Financial administration, budgeting or funding reports.
- Stakeholder relationship management.
- Irish workplace Health & Safety requirements.

The Details
- Temporary cover position
- Full-time, 35 hours per week
- €36,000-€42,000 annual salary equivalent, depending on experience*
- 25 days annual leave
- Dublin 7 location
- Occasional evening or weekend attendance may be required for events
- Ideally available to start as soon as possible
